MVC Pedestrian Struck - Rt 4 and Harmony Road

The driver of the Saturn was leaving the Harmony Plaza when he made a left hand turn onto Rt 4. westbound striking the victim with the passenger side of the vehicle. The victims upper body and head struck the windshield. B-6 and NCCEMS Medic 2 were first on scene, B-6 immediately called a priority 1 trauma. Fire Police were requested to close Rt.4 and Harmony Rd. Upon the arrival of additional units, 12-6 and 3-6 Captain Sean Byron took command. Given the seriousness of the victims injuries Delaware State Police requested that the road be closed until they could get an updated report on the victims condition. This prompted Captain Byron to request for traffic control assistance from Del Dot and a light unit from Station 23. Captain Byron placed the scene under control at 2300 hours and terminated command. The scene was turned over to Fire Police and DSP. Units responding: B-6, B-12, B-3, 12-6, 3-6, NCCEMS Medic 2, CFC Fire Police 12-9E, 3-9, and 12-9A, and EMS -12
